Ventura County honors 25 employees with 680 years of combined service

The Ventura County Board of Supervisors recognized 25 county employees at its Aug. 18 meeting for career milestones that collectively span 680 years of public service.

Each honoree marked at least 25 years of county employment, with some reaching 30 and 35 years, according to the county news release dated Aug. 27.

Who they are. The recognized employees represent nine agencies: the Auditor-Controller's Office, Department of Child Support Services, General Services Agency, Health Care Agency, Human Services Agency, Probation Agency, Public Works Agency, Resource Management Agency, and Ventura County Fire Department.

What was said. Board Chair Jeff Gorell said the employees provide critical services residents rely on every day, from public safety and healthcare to social services, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship.

County Executive Officer Dr. Sevet Johnson said longtime employees carry an incredible depth of knowledge about the organization and the communities it serves. "They help mentor colleagues, strengthen teams, and pass along knowledge that will continue benefiting the County well into the future," Johnson said, per the release.

The program. The Employee Continuous Service Recognition Program honors employees in five-year increments beginning at 25 years. The program recognizes experience, commitment, and public service.
