Ventura sets State of the City address, open house for Sept. 9
The free event at City Hall runs from 4 to 6 p.m., with a resource fair and the mayor's address livestreamed on the city's YouTube channel.
The City of Ventura will host its 2026 State of the City Address and Open House on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ventura City Hall, 501 Poli Street.
The event is free and family-friendly, according to the city news release dated Aug. 19.
Open house and resource fair. From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., the city will run interactive booths with access to city services and updates on ongoing initiatives. The fair will include live cultural performances, a student art show, a Touch-a-Truck experience, and a K9 and mounted unit meet-and-greet with the Ventura Police Department.
The address. At 5:00 p.m., the Ventura Fire Department Honor Guard will open the program, followed by welcome remarks from City Manager Bill Ayub. Mayor Dr. Jeannette Sánchez-Palacios will then deliver the 2026 State of the City Address, covering the city's financial outlook, progress on the City Council's strategic priorities, and recent accomplishments.
How to watch. The address will be livestreamed on the city's YouTube channel at youtube.com/cityofventura. Spanish-language materials will be available on the city's website during the event.
Chamber breakfast. The Ventura Chamber of Commerce will host a separate State of the City breakfast at Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., also featuring the mayor. Tickets are available at VenturaChamber.com.
