Camarillo breaks ground on Arneill Road supportive housing project
The 268 Arneill Road development will create permanent supportive housing for residents experiencing homelessness, with completion expected by October 2027.

Camarillo broke ground June 29 on a permanent supportive housing community at 268 Arneill Road, the city announced July 1.
The project will add to the city's housing continuum for residents experiencing homelessness, according to the city's July 1 news release. City and state officials, community leaders, and stakeholders attended a ceremonial turning of the soil.
Mayor David Tennessen spoke at the event, offering historical context on the property and outlining the city's plans for the development.
"The housing solutions initiatives we support today reflect the city's commitment to pursuing innovative approaches that provide assistance and create an accessible path to a safer community for all residents," Tennessen said, per the city's release. "By October next year, the ground we stand on today will be transformed into a small yet impactful community."
Construction is estimated to finish in October 2027, the city said. Michelle Glueckert D'Anna, assistant to the city manager, is the contact for the project.
The project is part of a coordinated housing solutions initiative Camarillo has advanced alongside the affordable housing community at 2361 Barry Street, the city said. The Arneill Road property will include nine residential apartment units with an on-site community room, individual patio areas, on-site laundry, and office space for supportive services. The site will serve as a bridge from homelessness to stable housing for some of the county's most vulnerable residents.
