Camarillo breaks ground on nine-unit supportive housing at Arneill Road
The city began construction on a permanent supportive housing community for residents experiencing homelessness, with completion expected in October 2027.

Construction is underway for the Arneill Road Housing Community at 268 Arneill Road, a permanent supportive housing project for Camarillo residents experiencing homelessness. The city held a groundbreaking ceremony on June 29 to mark the start of work, according to the July 1 city press release.
The property will include nine residential apartment units with an on-site community room, individual patio areas, laundry facilities, and office space for supportive services, the release states. It is part of a coordinated housing initiative tied to Camarillo's Homelessness Strategic Plan, alongside the 2361 Barry Street affordable housing community.
Mayor David Tennessen spoke at the event, offering historical background on the property and the city's long-term housing goals. "The housing solutions initiatives we support today reflect the City's commitment to pursuing innovative approaches that provide assistance and create an accessible path to a safer community for all residents," Tennessen said, per the release. "By October next year, the ground we stand on today will be transformed into a small yet impactful community."
Completion is estimated for October 2027. City and state officials, community leaders, and stakeholders attended the groundbreaking, the release confirms.
No further action is currently scheduled.
