Council OKs $279K design for Residential Street sidewalk and HAWK signal
The KPFF, Inc. design contract has a February 28, 2027 completion date; up to $27,934 in additional contingency was also authorized.

The Ventura City Council on April 14 awarded a $279,348 design contract to KPFF, Inc. for the Residential Street Sidewalk and HAWK Signal Project.
Council also authorized the City Manager to commit up to $27,934 in contingency funding, raising the total not-to-exceed agreement amount to $307,282. The contract completion date is February 28, 2027.
According to the April 14 agenda packet, the contract is Professional Services Agreement PW26-1215 for Project ST23-1228. The recommendation came from Public Works Director Charles W. Ebeling, and the contract was approved on consent.
KPFF, Inc. is a Washington Corporation authorized to do business in California. The agenda packet did not specify the section of Residential Street covered by the project, the type of HAWK signal hardware to be installed, or the projected start date for construction.
A HAWK signal is a pedestrian-activated crosswalk beacon. The KPFF design contract will produce the engineering plans needed before construction can begin.
No further council action on the design contract is currently scheduled.
