Ventura adds $200K to Santa Paula Rails-with-Trails design work
The sixth amendment to Chen Ryan's design contract extends the completion date to November 30, 2026 and brings the cumulative total to $4.6 million.

The Ventura City Council on April 14 added $200,000 to its design contract with Chen Ryan Associates, Inc. for the Santa Paula Branch Line - Rails with Trails Project, raising the contract total to $4,615,590.
That amendment to Professional Services Agreement PW24-1126 also extends the contract completion date to November 30, 2026.
According to the April 14 agenda packet, Public Works Director Charles W. Ebeling brought the recommendation. The amendment was approved on consent.
Project ST23-1230 carries the formal title 'Santa Paula Branch Line - Rails with Trails Project' in city records. The agenda packet did not detail what specific design tasks the $200,000 increase will fund, the segment of the corridor under design, or the projected start date for construction.
This sixth amendment is the latest in a series of expansions to the design contract, which now totals $4,615,590.
No further council action on the contract is currently scheduled.
