Ventura council finalizes Main Street Vision Plan, sets parklet replacement timeline
Council received the final vision document, confirmed parklet implementation timing, and authorized $49,730 in additional consultant work from RRM Design Group.

The Ventura City Council on March 24 received and filed the final Main Street Vision Plan and confirmed the implementation timeline for replacing the city's parklets, while authorizing additional consultant work to refine the plan.
Council approved a fourth amendment to Professional Services Agreement CD2025-02 with RRM Design Group, adding $49,730 to the contract for a new not-to-exceed amount of $227,915. The amendment funds tasks to 'review, refine, and revise' the Main Street Moves Vision Plan.
According to the March 24 agenda packet, the recommendation came from Community Development Director Rachel Dimond. The Vision Plan was the final version of a planning document the council had been considering; the action receives and files it as adopted.
That same item also confirmed the parklet implementation timeline. The agenda packet did not include the dollar value of the parklet program, the number of parklets to be replaced, or the implementation schedule details.
For the environmental record, council found that no further review was required under the California Environmental Quality Act, citing certification of EIR No. 01-25-0007 (State Clearinghouse No. 22024060943) on January 28, 2025 and finding no substantial changes since.
No further council action on the Main Street Vision Plan is currently scheduled.
