Camarillo deputies arrest Oak Park man in August burglary
David Wilson, 46, of Oak Park, was arrested Sept. 8 after detectives used ALPR cameras to link him to a residential burglary on Heather Street in Camarillo.

Ventura County Sheriff's Camarillo detectives arrested an Oak Park man on Sept. 8 in connection with an August residential burglary, using automated license plate reader cameras to identify the suspect after neighbor security footage proved too grainy to read a plate.
The burglary. On Aug. 5, 2026, patrol deputies from the Camarillo Police Station responded to a reported residential burglary in the 5300 block of Heather Street in Camarillo. The investigation determined that during the early morning hours, the suspect entered the victim's residence and stole property, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation. Detectives from the Camarillo Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation. During their investigation, detectives canvassed the area and learned that a neighbor's private security camera captured grainy footage of a pickup in the area associated with the burglary. The footage did not allow detectives to identify a license plate or the suspect any further.
ALPR breakthrough. Detectives utilized the Sheriff's Automated License Plate Reader cameras and located images of a potential suspect vehicle near the residence in the timeframe of when the crime occurred. After additional investigation, detectives identified the registered owner of the vehicle as David Wilson, 46, of Oak Park.
The arrest. On Sept. 8, 2026, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Novara Way in Oak Park. Wilson was taken into custody, and evidence was recovered linking Wilson to the crime.
Charges. Wilson was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on charges of burglary. Bail was set at $50,000.
