Council approves $82K selenium evaluation at Saticoy Country Club water system
Kennedy Jenks Consultants will design a corrective-action plan for the country club's separately operated drinking-water system through August.

The Ventura City Council on March 10 approved an $82,265 contract with Kennedy Jenks Consultants, Inc. to evaluate water treatment options for selenium at the Saticoy Country Club water system.
Council authorized a $74,865 base contract plus up to $7,400 in contingency amendments. The agreement runs from March 10 through August 31, 2026.
According to the March 10 agenda packet, the consultant will conduct a water treatment evaluation and provide corrective-action-plan support to address selenium at the Saticoy Country Club water system. Funding comes from the Water Capital Fund (Fund 1072), and council also authorized an $82,265 appropriations increase to the fund for the work.
Gina Dorrington, Ventura Water General Manager, brought the recommendation. The agenda packet did not specify the selenium concentrations detected, the source of the contamination, or the regulatory trigger for the corrective-action plan.
Termination of the contract is set for August 31, 2026, by which point the consultant's evaluation is expected to be complete.
No further council action on the contract is currently scheduled.
