Ex-president of Camarillo Girls Softball Association arrested in embezzlement probe

Ventura County Sheriff's detectives arrested the former president of the Camarillo Girls Softball Association on Sept. 15 for allegedly embezzling several thousand dollars from the youth nonprofit.
The report. During September 2026, patrol deputies responded to a possible embezzlement call, which revealed that the former president of the Camarillo Girls Softball Association had used association funds for personal purchases, resulting in losses of several thousand dollars, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation. Detectives from the Camarillo Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation and conducted additional follow-up.
The arrest. On Sept. 15, 2026, detectives contacted the former CGSA president, Paul Gallo, 59, of Thousand Oaks, and arrested him.
Charges. Gallo was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on charges of grand theft. He was later released on $10,000 bail.
